I really love this book and this movie, although the 6 hour one is really good, I love Keira Knightley in this one.

I loved all of the Pride and Prejudice movies, including the BBC versions, but I love Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Bennett-she owns the role.

It didn't follow this script at all. The ending wasn't like this either. Also what the people said as compared to the book wasn't at all true. It was wonderful in many ways. For instance Brenda Blethyn was superior in her portrayal of Mrs. Bennets character and all in all it was less intense in many ways than the 1996 version, however, there seemed to be too much of the connecting portions cut away to squeeze the movie into the time allotment allowed it. It therefore left anyone who'd not read the book scratching his or her head not knowing what was going on. The music was beautiful and the home in which the Bennets lived seemed to be very realistic.

Wonderful adaptation of the book. Excellently filmed by Joe Write and his actors.

My favorite movie of all time. I wanted to read the script so I could parse out exactly who was saying what in the fast-paced dialogues. Especially in the parts of Lizzie and sometimes Mr. Darcy, where sentences are left out to keep things brisk. I can also see where whole portions were cut here and there. And the finale is totally different. We see no wedding celebration and there's a new set of lines. This is how it goes with movies. What you see onscreen is never identical to the script as written, but this movie was mostly right on script, and it's a wonderful script. It touches my heart as very few movies have ever done. I wish I had seen it in a theater in 2005, but I had no idea a movie could be like this. I only discovered it recently and I think I may remain obsessed forever, watching it every month or two at the least, because the themes as portrayed here are deeply reassuring to my soul.
